Should we play

Juegamos

Should we play

I know, people will say, that I am too old to be playing with stuffed animals, but, but, I so love it.

I love throwing garfield on the air and catching him, to press its tummy, to simulate I talk to him and he listens, and talks back. I put him to play with my other animals, and talk. Like a 6 year old kid.

The psychologist (psychopaths actually ) would say I have a "Peter Pan Complex"

The Monster

The Monster

The Monster

The people of the village lived in fear on entering the north swamp. There was a rumor of a monster living there.
None of the living villagers have ever entered that swamp, so they really didn't knew how the monster looked like. They only knew the monster existed because of tales from their ancestors.
One day, a visitor arrived to the village, and as usual he was warned not to go to the swamp. But his path went to the north, and taking the long road to the west required more than an extra week of travel.
He entered the swamp, as the villagers saw him as if he was to face death.
For 3 days, he saw nothing more than the usual things one see in a swamp.
Then, he sees in the distance, what looks like a big green object moving, towards a man. The man there sees him, and shouts "help".
The traveler think, so thats the swamp monster, and is about to kill that man. Being of brave hearth, instead of running decided to try to help the man so they both survive the monster.
But oh surprise, the monster was no more than a cow covered with swamp plantas and the like. And the man was just asking for help to guide the cow out of a swamp pit.
On the travel to the town, as they talked, the traveller mentioned the story of The Monster. The man after laughing for a while told him.
Those people of the village on the other side, long time ago, one of our cows entered the swamp, and on fear running on the swamp unfortunately killed one o the villagers. The other person there didn0t recognize the cow under all the swamp mess, and since then the legend of The monster exist.

The end

After Kissing

After Kiss

After Kissing

Garfield got a bit of lipstick on his eye.

On another line of thought, I am watching an anime series called "Death Note", a very interesting one.
So far, the series goes that a student finds a "Death Note", which is the notebook in which the Shinigami (a god of the dead) writes the names of the people, and once the name is written the person dies.
So this student, after realizing that the instructions for the Death note are real, as in people die. Decide to go on a crusade to remove all criminals from the world, and create a crimeless utopia.
Naturally, people notice the death (by hearth attack) of lots, and lots of criminals, and is then declared that it is made by someone, and that that someone must be stopped.
Looks like an interesting story to unfold.

Suspiros

Suspiros

Sighs

Giving a gentle touch a moonless night, awakes
to the smell of her blood, the pains that arouses her
warm hug of her fear that heightens her senses.

She enjoy the sweet desire of her death
tired of hoping for her fate
heavenly music composed by her cries and moans.

Her sadness so great is confused whit happiness
destruction and wails create her fantasies
forgotten memories of her sleeping instincts

Suffering and pleasure in her dreams are confused
while on her heart, hate and love come together
sweet poison that grows with every beat.

Panuchos

Panuchos

Panuchos

Another of the delicious food from Yucatan, these are called panuchos

Its a tortilla filled with beans, that then is fried.
Then on top of it, people add any of the various typical food of Yucatan.

The one to the left has "cochinita pibil", that is pork in spices added with purple onion.

The middle one is "Pavo en Escabeche", which is Turkey prepared in mexican style.

The one to the right, has "Relleno Negro", or "Black Filling", which is Turkey with a black sauce. They usually add a bit of boiled egg.

They are delicious, but for sure, lots of fat there.

But one can eat three, and then go run 45 kilometers.

Sometimes I can be incredibly silly and forgetful.
My mom used to say to me "you don't lose your arms, because they are attached to your body, if not"

Bad news, I lost all my earings and my 3 rings, I had probably forgot them at some of the hotel I stayed before. I did noticed the missing box, after the hurricane, but thought, "mmmm, maybe with all the put everything safe I put them in a very safe place that I don't remember"

Well this weekend did some rearrangement of things at the apartment, and the box was nowhere to be found. Only a few that remained at the collars and nail box, survived.

Lime Soup

Lime Soup - Sopa de Lima

Lime Soup

One of the culinarie wonders of Yucatecan Food, is the lime soup.

It might look like a simple chicken soup with a few tortillas, but don't let the appereance fool you, it tastes absolutely nothing like it.
I do not know the secret recipe for the lime soup, but it kind of goes like this.
In abowl of water, the pieces of chicken flesh, onion, garlic, herbs, and very importan the lime pulp, is put to boil
Then you add the fried tortilla bits, and bits of avocado before serving along with the lime skin
And when to serve, you add and extra bit of lime juice.

Absolutely forbidden to put lemon on it.

It taste yummi, delicious.

The Pains Of Today

The Pains Of Today

The Pains Of Today

There is a saying "Thanks god is Friday", making lots of people happy because the weekend is about to start, two days of rest, fun, to go away from the usual chores of work, or school, or whatever.

So, what could be "The pains of today"??

For start people that work on the weekend, surely don't see the big thing about Friday.

Then what about when you had that big plan, and just before you call the day, sometimes comes out, that ruins your whole weekend.

Or what about being sick of something, spent the weekend on bed, with fever, sure for 99% of the populations is not fun.

What if you know something that will hurt you is going to happen.

Or just the anxiety of the wait, waiting for the clock to run those last 10 minutes can be enough to cause pain.

Pain, oh lovely pain.

Stinginess

Mezquinidad

Stinginess

noun
a lack of generosity; a general unwillingness to part with money

Thats what someone said I was a few days ago.
Why??

In park places here in Mexico, there is this people, who do two things, sometimes wash cars for money (thats ok, a service that deserves being paid), and they in theory help giving instructions when you are going out of your park place.
But sometimes, the park place is nearly empty, no cars coming, you could easilly go out in one fast movement, but no, suddenly you realize that there is that man standing in the way of your car, to give you instructions for help, when what he is actually doing is block. And even if there is cars and movement, is not like going out of a parking spot in those parking places is difficult.

So I never give them money for an unsolicited standing that they think is a service.

And for that, I was told yesterday "Your level of Stinginess, is outrageous"

Well in spanish, being called that even helped me to learn the correct word. Since it was mispronounced.

Tulum

This photo is from the archeological site of Tulum, where the biological entity that restrain me spent his weekend.

Tulum is a very interesting mayan archeological site.

Someone once said to me it was rare for being the only mayan site, right next to the sea. (its not, I know of other two, one in belize, and another in Isla de Jania, but maybe they are not that close to the sea)
What it does have, is an outer wall to protect the city.

And the view from there is, just amazing, the blues of the caribbean sea, its amazing (I'll post one photo of just the sea soon)

One tip, if you plan to visit Tulum, the archeologial site, take a hat, or something to cover your head with you. The sun is way too strong there. And walking, jumping, going up and down, you might get heat stoke (sun stroke).

A Heavy Thing

A Heavy Thing

A Heavy Thing

I remember one time at school, when a teacher asked, What is heavier, 1000 kilos of cotton or 1000 kilos of iron?

Looks like a really easy question, being that is actually the same weight, but it was very interesting to hear the discussion, on how some students argued that cotton being soft, and iron being a hard heavy metal, well, 1000 kilos of cotton should be lighter than the 1000 kilos of iron. Interesting how perception of heavy changed with the perception of material.

Like on the cartoons, when the characters easily lift something that says weight too little then someone else adds a few zeros, and suddenly is the heaviest thing ever.

why do I say this, well I don't know, maybe it was the result of the photo, In reality I just wanted to be able to show under the balloons, but in it looks more like if I was trying to hold under the weight of them. A false perception of weight. Like the other two examples.

But then I remember, weight is a relative thing, since it depends on gravity, since things weight different at different heights above sea level I don't remember if less or more. So maybe 1000 kilos of cotton could weight more or less than 1000 kilos of iron.

Kisses
Jessica

Ps, by the way, if some science-speak-person says "but kilo is a mass measure, the actual weight unit is Newtons", better take those fancy science words away.

Lucha Libre Masks

Mascaras

Lucha Libre Masks

In Mexico there is a sport called "Lucha Libre", translated as "Free Style Wrestling".

Don't ever think to say a fan or a member of this sport that it is only a show, or you will end up minimum at a nasty word fight, or they can make you a wrestling maneuver, like the "Hurracarrana (the hurricane throw)" or the "Candado Triple Inverso (reverse triple lock hold)"

Some of the wrestlers use mask, to hide their identity or to create a more colorful and attractive character while on the ring. Some mask are really elaborated, and so are the rest of the costumes.

Lots of colors.

A long time ago, wrestlers even became movie stars. The was the "Blue demon" who made movies in which he fought criminals. And there was "El SAnto" who fighted against vampire ladies, and mommies. I found those Santo movies entertaining. Strange since actually I don't like lucha libre.

Just a colorful thing of my country.
