Agua Azul

Agua Azul

Agua Azul

This are the great Agua Azul Waterfalls in Chiapas
This panorama was made with the Canon PhotoStitch, using 4 photos of the Waterfalls, they are too big, that they don't fit in just one photo in my Camera. Thats why the sky looks a bit of different colors.

They are indeed one natural wonder one must see.

Yes, the water is not so blue in the pic, but being start of rain season I was told that is the reason.

Zoomy Effect

Zoomy Effect

Zoomy Effect

This one was moving the zoom, I liked the result, like if two images where mixed.
I also looks like those movies where they were traveling time or between dimensions, how things kind of started to move away from view.

Kisses
Jessica from the other dimension

Foggy Effect

Foggy Effect

Foggy Effect

Another experiment with time exposures, this was 1.3 seconds open.
I liked how the water flowing down, kind of looks like if it was fog, but a very heavy fog.

Completely different from what it really was.

Another experiment with long exposure

The Mixul-Ha Waterfalls

Mixul-Ha Waterfall

The Mixul-Ha Waterfalls

Near Palenque there is a place called Mixul-Ha where this waterfall is.
Great thing is that you can swim there ,as long as you don't go close to where the water hits.

Mini Waterfall with long exposure time

Mini Waterfall

Mini Waterfall with long exposure time

This is an experiment with longer exposure times, this one was with 0.4 seconds, maybe not long, but enough to make the capture of the water movement look different.
Also shot a few with longer times, but without a tripod quite difficult to not get it blurry when doing more than one second.
This one the rocks look almost as clear as they were, love that green thingie on them.

And to think that waterfall is only like 15 centimeters tall at most.

Queen Fall

Banos de la Reina - Queen Fall

Queen Fall

So what did the biological entity did the weekend before the hurricane hit.
Spent time buying supplies, no, already had a few
Maybe preparing the house to support the rain, No, it really there was not much to protect.
Perhaps, going through the city looking for scape routes, Negative, the is only the bridge to go out the island.

You know one effect of a hurricane, is that it sucks all cloud and humidity in the surrounding areas, which made a promise of a clean sky.

So I decided to make a trip to Chiapas, wanted to go a bit far, but due to the long work nights during the week, couldn't wake up as early as I wanted, so the Palenque Area was as far as I went.

This time, instead of visiting the Pyramids, I decided to take the inside the Jungle trail.

There is in there a nice group of Waterfalls, of which the Queens Bath (named that way, since is believed that the Mayan Queen of Palenque used to bath there) is the prettiest.

But then, once arriving, surprise, it was dry, apparently rain season is really coming that late, the it was just the rock formation.

Yet that made an amazing spectacle in itself, to see the shapes the rocks have taken afters years and years of being rounded, shaped, modified by the pass of water.

I posted Black and white since I believe it shows the shadows and shapes in a cleaner way than color. Crazy Jessica

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

taken from the bridge on top of the waterfall.

Maybe I am just that crazy, lot of people seem a bit scared when looking down.

To me it was great, I even felt the urge to jump. I guess is one cool fall, next and inside the water. Too bad we humans are not designed to fall that much without dying.

Then we went to the Montmorency Waterfall. Its tall, and nice.

At first I thought, "Wow, thats gonna be one good stair climb", but then they took us up by bus, only to came down the stairs.

One thing about it, is that is near to the highway-road, so it sure is a nice view when driving around there. a waterfall on one side, the river-coast to the other.

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

In the Bupreau Canyon there is this waterfall.

With rainbow included when sun light hits in the right direction.

Its a short walk to go down, and then up again.

Quite impressive, plus one can see the forest from the outside.

At some point one can cross from one side to the other, either by bridge, or by zip wire (aerial runway) Guess which one the biological entity choose.

By Night 1

By Night 1

By Night 1

When night fall on Niagara, they send color lights against the waterfalls.
So the water turns colorful.

Its nice to see, and from the high view point one can also see the city from above. but is not as impressive as the waterfalls.

And then to party on the city.

Niagara WaterFall

Niagara WaterFall

Niagara WaterFall

In Niagara there is a boat trip called "Maid of the mist"

The boat, than can be seen in one of my previous pics, goes along the river coming really close to the waterfalls.

They gave you a little raincoat, since the mist and watersplash is sure to make you go extremelly wet. I saw it on one arm I left outside :P

Its really impressive. Its from down there that one can actually see how big the waterfalls are, as opossed to the views from the walk area on the side.

when coming close to the big Canadian one, it swings a lot, Yupiiiiii.

Niagara US Fall

Niagara US Fall

This is a front view of the Niagara WaterFall that is on US side

Canada Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls Canada Side

Canada Niagara Falls

Another picture of the Canadian Niagara Falls, You can see the little boat there, is the "Lady of the Mist" Boat, It goes close to the waterfall.

Impressive thing is the mist area in the center, From postcards I saw that sometimes its not there so the full waterfall is viewable, must be pretty, but like this is impressive too.

And see the bird there, well while on the boat, we saw a few birds (I think they were ducks) flying there in that close to the waterfall area.
