Quebec Rue Champlain

Quebec Rue Champlain

Quebec Rue Champlain

The a stop in Quebec.

From the cities I visited in Canada this one , was the one I liked the most. Even being so crowded. There was just something about the architecture style, the going up and down, the lots of tourist, the lots of miniparks, that is so captivating and at the same time relaxing.

We walked a lot, hours and hours of walking.

This photo is from one of the busiest street, Rue Champlain. I know Rue is street in french.

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

taken from the bridge on top of the waterfall.

Maybe I am just that crazy, lot of people seem a bit scared when looking down.

To me it was great, I even felt the urge to jump. I guess is one cool fall, next and inside the water. Too bad we humans are not designed to fall that much without dying.

On the trip we went to the Sainte Anne Basilique, that is a church dedicated to Sainte Anne, in the Bupreau coast in Canada.

Is a big church, yes I took photos of the church, but didn't felt like puting one more, so I am posting instead a picture of one detail that captured my attention, a lion in bronze

Painted in purple

Painted in purple

Painted in purple

The city of Ottawa was celebrating the 150 years of being selected as Capital of Canada.
From what I understood, on that time, the Queen of England selected Ottawa among several cities, to be named capital.

At night they had this light show against the parliament building, where there was a bit of history, bit of landscape, bit of artistic images.

I liked how the tower looked in purple.

This is one of the building around the Parliament Area in Ottawa

Again, the gothic style.

I like the green tone of the building roofs. I know its because of the oxide, and lots of them had it cleaned to show the brown tone. But me thinks they look better in green.

A bit blurry and noisy picture, but with only mi hands as support in a night pic, I think I made it ok, in some of them.

The next stop of the trip, was Ottawa, that is the capital of Canada. It looks like a nice city, unfortunately the time there was too short.

Arriving on the afternoon, could only walk around the downtown area, and most of my photos were during night.

Lots of big buildings, mostly in kind of a gothic style. I liked that.

An island in the 1000 Islands area

Isla en Mil Islas

An island in the 1000 Islands area

After visiting Toronto and Niagara, we made a stop in a place called Thousand Islands.

Is a river and lake, in the border between Canada and US, where there are a lot of islands. So the name 1000 Islands.

There are big ones, and large ones.
Some have huge superpretty houses, other small ones.

I can say that I live in an island too.
Of course not like those ones.

Lots of ducks too. but thay kept themselves too far away from the boat.

Flores Night Shot

Flores Night Shot

A pic taken from the balcony at my hotel,
Flores in Guatemala

I liked the reflections.

Flores Guatemala

So I did travelled to the south
To the country of Guatemala.
My plan to see the Mayan ruins of Tikal.

To go there, is a nice long bus travel. From the island I live aproximately, 16 hours by bus, to the Island of Flores.

A nice little town, build in an island in the middle of the Lake Peten. Very pretty. The lake is huge.

Also a nice place to swim, and there is nothing better, to relax after a long bus trip, with the warm hot weather, than to take a nice swimming in the nice calmed waters of the Peten Lake.

The pictures.
Top a nice photo of a guy in his boat with his dog, cruising along the Lake.
Bottom, is the island of Flores, seen from a boat.

Downtown SLP

DownTown SLP

I was back at my hometown, visiting my family.
Nice to be way from the island, from the hot weather, from the job for a few little days.
Terrible to fly by planes, airlines that are always late.
Religious weekend, so lots of places with quite some people. But the religious festivities are fun.

Some snaps from Downtown in San Luis Potosi

Top Left, is the Chatedral, it was restored a few time ago. Really nice building
Top Right, a look at the ceiling from inside, lots of details and decorations.
Down Left, a detail from inside the church of El Carmen. Lots of figures, one can spend hours just looking into ever little detail in there.
Down Middle, the church of "El Carmen", a really nice church.
Down Right, a night shot of one tower of the temple of san Francisco.

I like walking downtown when its not full of people, lots of really beautifull buildings.
