Lots of this kind of sign all around Quebec.

Yes there were other more pretty, or more elaborated, but hey, I love Ice Cream, so the decision to post this one instead of another, was totally made with the tongue or stomach.

Here I am with a new friend, Saray.

She is so thin, and with her own long hair.

As for me, definitively not a look to show off. but hey, it was that or nothing.

Quebec Rue Champlain

Quebec Rue Champlain

The a stop in Quebec.

From the cities I visited in Canada this one , was the one I liked the most. Even being so crowded. There was just something about the architecture style, the going up and down, the lots of tourist, the lots of miniparks, that is so captivating and at the same time relaxing.

We walked a lot, hours and hours of walking.

This photo is from one of the busiest street, Rue Champlain. I know Rue is street in french.

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

Montmorency from above

taken from the bridge on top of the waterfall.

Maybe I am just that crazy, lot of people seem a bit scared when looking down.

To me it was great, I even felt the urge to jump. I guess is one cool fall, next and inside the water. Too bad we humans are not designed to fall that much without dying.

Bizarre

Bizarra - Bizarre

Bizarre

8 things why I am bizarre

Yes I know, one writes list when there is nothing to write about

lets begin....

8 sometimes I get the urge to eat things that humans are not suposed to eat

7 I sometimes get confused where is left and where is right (and yes in one ocasion I almost crashed because of that)

6 I don't like watches, I hate them

5 I enjoy watching the ants walk and carry things, and when possible I follow the line to the ant house

4 sdrawkcab etirw I semitemoS

3 I like to talk to my stuffed animal toys

2 I like eating salty things mixed with sweet things, like sandwich of strawbery jam with cheese, or tuna fish with honey.

and reason number one, I am a bizarre person is

1 if you tought I was going to write , BEing a boy I like to dress up in girl clothes, wrong, There is another reason to be number one, but I'll keep that one a secret.

Montmorency Waterfall

Montmorency Waterfall

Montmorency Waterfall

Then we went to the Montmorency Waterfall. Its tall, and nice.

At first I thought, "Wow, thats gonna be one good stair climb", but then they took us up by bus, only to came down the stairs.

One thing about it, is that is near to the highway-road, so it sure is a nice view when driving around there. a waterfall on one side, the river-coast to the other.

On the trip we went to the Sainte Anne Basilique, that is a church dedicated to Sainte Anne, in the Bupreau coast in Canada.

Is a big church, yes I took photos of the church, but didn't felt like puting one more, so I am posting instead a picture of one detail that captured my attention, a lion in bronze

Canada Rainbow,

Rainbow in Canada

Canada Rainbow,

Seven colors. Purple, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red.

Evil scientist tell us that the reason for the rainbow to exist is that light reflects in the water drops, and different length waves bounce in different angles, causing the light composed of all seven colors, to spread out and show the colors.

Of course being an explanation from the evil scientists, is more complicated, and becomes boring.

Then when I was little in religion school, they taught us, that Noah, build and arc, put lots of animals inside, and then God, make it rain for 40 days, and everything was flooded, at the end, God promised never to make it rain that much, and as a sign of His promises, he created the rainbow, to appear after every rain. Of course one can see it the other way, as a reminder that rain can destroy if it last 40 days. Or in the case of my island even less days.

Another explanation, came from the boy scouts, the colors where fighting to decide which one was the prettiest one, so Mother Nature became sad of hearing them fight, and she cried, or in simple words, it rained. But the colors kept fighting. So she got angry, and screamed, and so came lighting, . Colors became scared, and become closer, hugging themselves, and so the rainbow appeared for the first time. Mother Nature was impressed by the beauty of the rainbow, that she stopped crying and screaming. And from that day, whenever it rains colors put a rainbow to stop it.

I like that last one the most.

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

Bupreau Canyon WaterFall

In the Bupreau Canyon there is this waterfall.

With rainbow included when sun light hits in the right direction.

Its a short walk to go down, and then up again.

Quite impressive, plus one can see the forest from the outside.

At some point one can cross from one side to the other, either by bridge, or by zip wire (aerial runway) Guess which one the biological entity choose.

Uniforms

Uniforms

Uniforms

More uniform from the Guard Change

Top, The new cadets (I suppose) in blue being given directions by their officer in green, accompanied by the girl in Scottish outfit. Look the different reactions to the officer pointing something outside of view. The one more to the left, seems more attracted to see the officer, the next one, to see what he is pointing, and the one to the right seems more interested in the girl, Perhaps thinking on asking her out.

Middle is the band, similar outfit to the guards.

And at the bottom, the Scottish part of the band.

Evil Jessica says : hey look, they allow men in skirt in the Canadian army, maybe I should join, just make the skirt shorter.

regular Jessica says: shut up, you evil one, or do you want Scottish people to hate us, is a kilt, not a skirt.

We went to the change of guard in Ottawa

Every Morning (actually only during sumer they do it public) the guards that have been guarding different points, and the ones that are going to cover the new posts.

The sergeant then inspects both troops for arms, dress and colors.
Then check for some gun movements.

After they are ready to go, the band plays the anthem, and the new guard marchs to their new position.

Painted in purple

Painted in purple

Painted in purple

The city of Ottawa was celebrating the 150 years of being selected as Capital of Canada.
From what I understood, on that time, the Queen of England selected Ottawa among several cities, to be named capital.

At night they had this light show against the parliament building, where there was a bit of history, bit of landscape, bit of artistic images.

I liked how the tower looked in purple.

Its one of those cartoons that no matter how many times I have seen it, I always enjoy seeing.

One of my favorite chapter of Garfield if the one about

The Creature That Lived in the Refrigerator, Behind the Mayonnaise Next to the Ketchup and to the Left of the Coleslaw

just beacuse every time, they were to say the name of the monser, they put that illy scary music, and said the whole thing.

Again, the gothic style.

I like the green tone of the building roofs. I know its because of the oxide, and lots of them had it cleaned to show the brown tone. But me thinks they look better in green.

A bit blurry and noisy picture, but with only mi hands as support in a night pic, I think I made it ok, in some of them.

The next stop of the trip, was Ottawa, that is the capital of Canada. It looks like a nice city, unfortunately the time there was too short.

Arriving on the afternoon, could only walk around the downtown area, and most of my photos were during night.

Lots of big buildings, mostly in kind of a gothic style. I liked that.

Castle in an Island

Castillo Isla

Castle in an Island

This ones has a long history, but due to my bad memory I will make it short :D

This island was the property of the owner of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York.

He bought it for his wife.

Well, first the island, was cut and refill to make it have the shape of a heart.

Then he started building the castle, as a gift to his wife, a proof of their love.
He brought the best artisans, constructors , workers from all over the world, to build the most magnificent building ever.

But then, his wife died, and he abandoned the project.

Years later the regional council bought the island back, finished the castle, and turn it into a museum.

We only saw it form outside, since being tourist in Canada, we were not allowed to set feet in the island, that belongs to US.

Its quite impressive, but the history has a sad ending :(

Is a river and lake, in the border between Canada and US, where there are a lot of islands. So the name 1000 Islands.

There are big ones, and large ones.
Some have huge superpretty houses, other small ones.

I can say that I live in an island too.
Of course not like those ones.

Lots of ducks too. but thay kept themselves too far away from the boat.

A flower of little flowers

A flower of little flowers

A flower of little flowers

This one is like a little flower bouquet with a star-shaped handle

From far, it looked like one big flower, a big surprise to see its actually lots of little ones.

A reminder of how things are made of smaller things, and from there smaller things we cannot see in plain sight like cells, then smaller things like molecules and from the atoms, and next little particles that have only been theorized of existence.

It makes one wonder, how long till the little thingies are so tiny that there is no way that they can be made of even tinnier things. Or does that go to infinite division, smaller and smaller to point we humans will never understand.

Sorry from
the silly pseudo-science Jessica

Niagara WaterFall

Niagara WaterFall

Niagara WaterFall

In Niagara there is a boat trip called "Maid of the mist"

The boat, than can be seen in one of my previous pics, goes along the river coming really close to the waterfalls.

They gave you a little raincoat, since the mist and watersplash is sure to make you go extremelly wet. I saw it on one arm I left outside :P

Its really impressive. Its from down there that one can actually see how big the waterfalls are, as opossed to the views from the walk area on the side.

when coming close to the big Canadian one, it swings a lot, Yupiiiiii.

Another picture of the Canadian Niagara Falls, You can see the little boat there, is the "Lady of the Mist" Boat, It goes close to the waterfall.

Impressive thing is the mist area in the center, From postcards I saw that sometimes its not there so the full waterfall is viewable, must be pretty, but like this is impressive too.

And see the bird there, well while on the boat, we saw a few birds (I think they were ducks) flying there in that close to the waterfall area.

llantos y alegrias, deseos encerrados

Busca en sensaciones prohibir su desprecio

Ok, again trying to translate to english

Perpetual Silence

Among shadows and whisper a moan scapes
a sight of fire denies her scent
a smile of pleasure a torment becames

Wanting in sensation forbid her contempt
a ilusion lost in appearance
a secret kept in eternal Silence.
