The Pains Of Today
The Pains Of Today
There is a saying "Thanks god is Friday", making lots of people happy because the weekend is about to start, two days of rest, fun, to go away from the usual chores of work, or school, or whatever.
So, what could be "The pains of today"??
For start people that work on the weekend, surely don't see the big thing about Friday.
Then what about when you had that big plan, and just before you call the day, sometimes comes out, that ruins your whole weekend.
Or what about being sick of something, spent the weekend on bed, with fever, sure for 99% of the populations is not fun.
What if you know something that will hurt you is going to happen.
Or just the anxiety of the wait, waiting for the clock to run those last 10 minutes can be enough to cause pain.
Pain, oh lovely pain.

Glass Cups
Stinginess
Stinginess
noun
a lack of generosity; a general unwillingness to part with money
Thats what someone said I was a few days ago.
Why??
In park places here in Mexico, there is this people, who do two things, sometimes wash cars for money (thats ok, a service that deserves being paid), and they in theory help giving instructions when you are going out of your park place.
But sometimes, the park place is nearly empty, no cars coming, you could easilly go out in one fast movement, but no, suddenly you realize that there is that man standing in the way of your car, to give you instructions for help, when what he is actually doing is block. And even if there is cars and movement, is not like going out of a parking spot in those parking places is difficult.
So I never give them money for an unsolicited standing that they think is a service.
And for that, I was told yesterday "Your level of Stinginess, is outrageous"
Well in spanish, being called that even helped me to learn the correct word. Since it was mispronounced.

A few time ago a friend of mine made a drawing of me as Jessica
This time I asked if I can have it, and happily my friend send it to me.
Then after long times, I sent it to get framed. And after even longer times it was ready.
Decided to finally pay honors to the drawing.
A huge thank you kiss to Zully.

in Lieu Of Treason
in Lieu Of Treason
I remember once reading that sentence. "In Lieu of Treason", like that in english. I thought it meant "guilty of treason"
I remembered it because I was reading the other day an article, an the words "In lieu of" appeared again. So I looked upon their meaning. Turns out it means "instead of".
So now I am wondering, what consecuences did it had on the reading of the rest of whatever I was readin, when I thoug it said "guilty of treason", when it actually was "instead of treason"

Little Crab
Saw this little friend with a cuple more in the beach, I stayed looking them for a little, then I said, "mm, maybe I could run to my cabaña, and run back to take a few photos
Luckily for me , they remained there, and as long as I stayed a bit away, they let me took photos.
Interesting
CRustacean, well, in spanish crustaceo, I like saying that word, crustaceo.
It reminds me if Sebastian, the crab from the little mermaid movie
A Balloon flower
A Balloon flower
Since I got no natural flowers, I had to do myself one with balloons, at least I know that if I end up without job, I can try selling balloon figures.

Tulum Beach
Tulum Beach
Another view of another point of the beachs in Tulum.
With those blues there was only one thing to do, to jump into the water.
This time I did remember to put sun blocker, so I ended up with a nice tan, yes bit of sunburn, but not much, and more important, without the pain of it.
I so wanted to just stay there forever.
But the evil forces brought me back.

Tulum
Tulum
This photo is from the archeological site of Tulum, where the biological entity that restrain me spent his weekend.
Tulum is a very interesting mayan archeological site.
Someone once said to me it was rare for being the only mayan site, right next to the sea. (its not, I know of other two, one in belize, and another in Isla de Jania, but maybe they are not that close to the sea)
What it does have, is an outer wall to protect the city.
And the view from there is, just amazing, the blues of the caribbean sea, its amazing (I'll post one photo of just the sea soon)
One tip, if you plan to visit Tulum, the archeologial site, take a hat, or something to cover your head with you. The sun is way too strong there. And walking, jumping, going up and down, you might get heat stoke (sun stroke).
Kisses
Jessica.

Guacamole
Guacamole
Guacamole is a mexican Food made of Avocado.
Basically is avocado smashed, squashed until it is like in the photo.
Some people add vinegar to it, some cream, some mayonnaise.
Some add tomato, pepper, onion, other things.
But is basically avocado.
One thing I know, is that not all avocados are good for Guacamole, the best one is the Hass Avocado variety.

Fishy
A Heavy Thing
A Heavy Thing
I remember one time at school, when a teacher asked, What is heavier, 1000 kilos of cotton or 1000 kilos of iron?
Looks like a really easy question, being that is actually the same weight, but it was very interesting to hear the discussion, on how some students argued that cotton being soft, and iron being a hard heavy metal, well, 1000 kilos of cotton should be lighter than the 1000 kilos of iron. Interesting how perception of heavy changed with the perception of material.
Like on the cartoons, when the characters easily lift something that says weight too little then someone else adds a few zeros, and suddenly is the heaviest thing ever.
why do I say this, well I don't know, maybe it was the result of the photo, In reality I just wanted to be able to show under the balloons, but in it looks more like if I was trying to hold under the weight of them. A false perception of weight. Like the other two examples.
But then I remember, weight is a relative thing, since it depends on gravity, since things weight different at different heights above sea level I don't remember if less or more. So maybe 1000 kilos of cotton could weight more or less than 1000 kilos of iron.
Kisses
Jessica
Ps, by the way, if some science-speak-person says "but kilo is a mass measure, the actual weight unit is Newtons", better take those fancy science words away.

Lucha Libre Masks
Lucha Libre Masks
In Mexico there is a sport called "Lucha Libre", translated as "Free Style Wrestling".
Don't ever think to say a fan or a member of this sport that it is only a show, or you will end up minimum at a nasty word fight, or they can make you a wrestling maneuver, like the "Hurracarrana (the hurricane throw)" or the "Candado Triple Inverso (reverse triple lock hold)"
Some of the wrestlers use mask, to hide their identity or to create a more colorful and attractive character while on the ring. Some mask are really elaborated, and so are the rest of the costumes.
Lots of colors.
A long time ago, wrestlers even became movie stars. The was the "Blue demon" who made movies in which he fought criminals. And there was "El SAnto" who fighted against vampire ladies, and mommies. I found those Santo movies entertaining. Strange since actually I don't like lucha libre.
Just a colorful thing of my country.
