Around Merida
Ok, so as told I went to Merida to the dance place. Well that was the activity Saturday.
So Sunday I went out into the city, I would have love to go in girl mode, but first, that was like too much too scared to even try after the emotions of last night, second no clothes to do that and definitively no proper shoes. Plus the hotel would be only available until somepoint of the day. Did I mention too scared to go out again, and in the day. Plus the weather here around, 30 minutes walking and I would be sweating all over, loosing make-up and end up looking like a something I can't name.
So did the Sunday touristic walking in boy clothes, in a way that was good, since I discovered that early sunday morning they have a bicycling activitie, so rented a bike and travel around Downtown and Paseo Montejo on a bike.
Merida is a really nice citiy to go over on the weekend, downtown is full of nice restaurants, bars, coffee places, ad other amenities. Lots of people walking around, lots of things to see.
Also has a very specific style in architecture that I find fascinating.
Anyway, up to describing the pictures.
Top Left, is the image of the Flag and Nation Monument its quite pretty even for nonpatriotic nonmexican reasons. The sculpture is nice.
Top Right is the inside garden of some building in Merida. I forgot which, but it was pretty, and really calm, nice to go there and read or think.
Middle Left, is one of the many big houses over Paseo Montejo, that is the main street in the vity, and in old times, was the street were the houses of all the rich people were, there are some really impressive houses, with lots of details to see and admire. Unfortunately, like 75% are now banks, company offices and such.
Middle Right, is some church, Merida downtown has lots of churches, well like almost any city in Mexico, but most of them has this clean style, with straight single lines, so opposed to the architecture of the houses around, I find that interesting.
Bottom Left, is part of the main park and plaza and a view of the goverment building. Looks pretty.
Bottom Right, is a view of a building also downtown Merida, with lots of decorations and details. Next to it is the city Chatedral.
Its a really pretty city, and from here one can go to several nice places, maybe some other day I share them. Like more mayan sites, cenotes, beach, old haciendas.
Anyway
Bye for now
Silly Jessica
