Border Line

Fronteriza

Border Line

A flag, drum and a little fire on the middle.
Six steps to each side, a little stair to the west, to a platform with a pile of wood logs.
And with this, you are to set the pile on fire if you spot something over that grassfield.
And so her trainning ended, to start her job as a border watch.

Day after day, she watched the field, learned to see how the grass grow, got knowledge of the birds flying by and their seasons, even discovered the moment each year when the deers crossed.
With time her sight became better and was able to see the rabbits, even the forms of the wolves beind the trees in the forest at the back.
The landscape went green, yellow, red and white so many time, the wood piles replaced even more.

And just 3 days before her job ended, a shadow appeared, a little dot where none has ever been, and with the shadow a human silhouette.

Ps, photo taken with candle light, then increased luminosity, which resulted in the effect seen.
