Snaps from RiaLagartos, San Felipe and Flamingoes

Snaps from RiaLagartos, San Felipe and Flamingoes

Ok Congratulations to Lisa who was right on the area I was, I stayed in a different town, called San Felipe, instead of El cuyo, but both are twons located inside the Ria Lagartos reserve, north of ChichenItza.
A good guess on the girls who said Celestum, that was a close one.

This place is really pretty, it has a lots of birds, the most pretty ones being the flamingoes, the more impresive some seahawk, and lots of Herons.
It has 3 different ecosistems, the sea , the salt water river that is bordered by manglar (mangrove forest), and a little bit of swamp area.
Its one area where birds reproduce, and hide from the cold in winter. Also lots of life from other species, lots of crabs. Good thing the goverment tries to preserve it by calling it protected reservoir area.

Ok, now to the pictures.
Top Left, is a shot of the main street of the town of San Felipe, its a fishers town, and most of the houses are build in this style, its really pretty. Also a very calm town, to go away from all the stress, distractions, problems of the life in the city, and enjoy the tranquility, the sea breeza, the views, the proximity to nature, and relax.
Top Right, is the sunrise from the balcony at the place I stayed. REally great, lots of orange colors, and very pretty to see how the dark blue of the river slowly went into a light pretty blue, how the black forms turned into little boats, the ocasional bird flying by, A really pretty view. And I got to enjoy it in girl mode, that made a special morning into a super special morning (but I'll talk about it other day)
Center Left, one groups of flamingoes in the river, a little far, but the pink spots are there.
Center Right, a closer look of the Flamingoes, they area really pretty birds.
Bottom Left, is the beach near San Felipe, can spot a Herron trying to find little fishes to eat around. Its interesting, that the town is located facing the river, not the sea. To go to the beach you go by boat, and agree on an hour for they to come back to pick you up, its a really pretty beach, very calm, and lots of little fishes swimming around you.
Bottom Right, is a view of one of the sweet water holes inside the swamp/manglar area, they are very important due to the river being saltwater. Its Really pretty.

Hope I choose the right pics to share.

Thats' all by now.
Kisses
